The creator
Luca Scolari is an Italian manager and businessman involved in philanthropic projects that combine sport and civil diplomacy.
The creator and leader of Assist for Peace, he has engaged international champions and sponsors—from Buffon to Djokovic, from Nibali to Valentino Rossi—to create shared play spaces in the Holy Land: in 2016, the multipurpose playground in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City, and in 2019, the first public playground in Bethlehem, named after Davide Astori, open to children of all faiths.
Previously, in 2000, he had been among the organizers of the Jubilee of Sport in Rome, desired by Pope John Paul II, while in 2007 he helped organize the Peace March from Bethlehem to Jerusalem, carrying the torch of Peace lit by Pope Benedict XVI through the "wall".
His social and civic commitment has materialized in numerous other initiatives, and he served on the advisory board of the "Get the Point" foundation, which educates young people about nonviolence. In 2016, he received the President's Volunteer Service Award from the US President.
